Current partner status

No paid research partner is enabled on CMDRX.com today. Any future sponsored tool will be labeled, disclosed, and evaluated with the same criteria described here. Official links remain separate from commercial placements.

Primary-source tools

SEC EDGAR, issuer investor-relations sites, and fund sponsor pages should anchor the research process. Their interfaces may be less polished than commercial tools, but they provide the filed or published documents behind many summarized data points.

Fund comparison tools

A fund tool can help model costs or compare categories. Check whether it uses the correct share class, how recently the data was updated, which costs are included, and what assumptions drive projections. FINRA’s Fund Analyzer is a useful starting point for cost comparisons.

Quote services and screeners

  • Pros: fast orientation, filters, watchlists, and broad coverage
  • Cons: delayed data, inconsistent classifications, stale corporate actions, and limited methodology detail
  • Best use: discovery and cross-checking—not final verification

Portfolio trackers

Trackers can consolidate positions and performance, but connection methods, security practices, calculation methods, and subscription terms vary. Do not share brokerage credentials with a service unless you understand how access is provided and protected.

How to evaluate any research product

  1. Find the data sources and update schedule.
  2. Read the methodology for ratings or scores.
  3. Check coverage gaps and survivorship bias.
  4. Identify advertising, affiliate, or issuer relationships.
  5. Review price, renewal, cancellation, and data-export terms.
  6. Verify consequential claims independently.
